1st International Turkish Open Kickboxing Tournament

1st International Turkish Open Kickboxing Tournament was held in Turgut Özal Sports Hall, Kepez, Antalya on 8-9-10 April 2016. The tournament consists of Point Fighting, Light Contact, Full Contact, Low Kick, Kick Light disciplines. The tournament had participants from 14 countries (Turkey, Azerbaijan, Denmark, Croatia, South Africa, Iraq, Iran, Israil, Kosovo, Palestine, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Macedonia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan), including approximately 1,000 athletes, 100 referees.
The tournament which was held in Antalya Kepez Turgut Özel Spors Hall attracted a lot of attention. Although it was the first edition of the tournament, it was very succssful and t was apreciated by the participants. This event also was a rehersal for Turkish Kickboxing Federation that will organize WAKO Seniors European Championships 2016. It was proven that kickboxing events inTurkey can be conducted without any problems such as security, and it is very convinient to host events in Turkey.

Reşat Onur Er, is a law graduate from Turkey with LL.M degree. He is involved in kickboxing since 2012. He is Turkish Kickboxing Federation Chairman of Students Committee and Member of Committee on Foreign Relations, WAKO IF  Member of Education/Students Committee WAKO European Kickboxing Federation Member of Students/Educational Committee and is founder of WorldKickboxing.Net. He is a licensed kickboxing athlete who has 7th Dan Dark Brown Belt. He has been working actively for development of kickboxing in Turkey and Africa. He works at Cape Town Iron and Steel Works as a Legal Assistant.
