International Kickboxing Festival 2014 Piracicaba, São Paulo, Brazil

Soon after WAKO World Cup 2014 Brazil Stage, Brazilian Confederation of Kickboxing (CBKB) organized another great international kickboxing even, International Kickboxing Festival 2014. The event took place in Piracicaba, São Paulo, Brazil between 4th – 7th September 2014. The festival contaned competitive, capacitive and participatory activities.  The event was the biggest event of Brazilian kickboxing history. Espen Lund, Accting President of WAKO (IF), Nasser Nassiri, President of WAKO Asia and WAKO (IF) Vice President, Roy Baker, WAKO (IF) Board Member and WAKO Europe Vice President were together in Brazil for International Kickboxing Festival 2014.

Capacitive Activity

Capacitive activity of the festival was the international arbitration course which was administered by Yuri Lakhtikov from Estonia, WAKO (IF) International Referee Committee Ring Sports member including the procedures for ring and tatami, aiming to train and classify the referees for WAKO.

Participatory Activity

Participatory activity of the event will be open technical kickboxing courses that will be conducted by three well known kickboxing idols. These idols are:

Don “The Dragon” Wilson

One of the greatest fighters in the history of Kickboxing, who won the world title 11 times. He is a member of the hall of fame martial arts, a kickboxer who has scored 47 knockouts in his career, which lasted five decades. He is a famous Hollywood actor who starred in many action movies.

Semmy “SemSchilt is a Dutch kickboxer and karateka. He was the Heavyweight Grand Slam Glory 2013 Champion and four time (three consecutive) World GP K-1 Champion. Also shares with Ernesto Hoost‘s record for most GPs won.

Roy Baker

Roy Baker is three times European champion and four times world champion, technical personnel of 08 world championships, he built an unrivaled history in Point Fighting between 1982-2002. He is Executive Board Member of WAKO (IF) and First Vice President of WAKO Europe and promoter of higher stage of the World Cup WAKO. He is also promoter of Irish Open, which in 2014 featured more than 3,500 athletes registered.

Brazilian Kickboxing Cup

Brazilian Kickboxing Cup was be the competitive activity of the International Kickboxing Festival. The event took place in Waldemar Blatkauskas Municipal Gymnasium. This event was for selection of  Brazilian National Kickboxing Team for Panamerican Championships 2014 that will take place in Corrientes, Argentina between 4 – 7 December, 2014.
