SportAccord Convention 2014 took place in Antalya, Turkey and it was an historical event for WAKO and kickboxing community because Kickboxing has been elected as a the new member of IWGA (International World Games Association). General annual meeting of IWGA (International World Games Association) took place in Belek, Antalya, Turkey during SportAcoord Convention 2014.  José Perurena Lopez, member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), was elected President of the Internation World Games Association (IWGA) until 2018. Another very important topic of the agenda of this meeting was voting for candidate sports and as a result of the voting Kickboxing has been elected as a the new member of IWGA (International World Games Association). This is a huge step for kickboxing sport because IWGA (International World Games Association) is under the patronage of the IOC (International Olympic Committee) and Kickboxing is a candidate sport for IOC recognation. This step will provide a good progress for IOC recognation process and it is a big plus in this road to Olympic Games.
