Turkish Prime Minister Wears Kickboxing Gloves

Mr. Salim Kayıcı, President of Turkish Kickboxing Fedeation, member of the executive board of WAKO IF and Vice president of WAKO Europe, was in Adana with the prime minister of Republic of Turkey, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Mr. Erdoğan was kind enough to wear on the kickboxing gloves, after Mr. Kayıcı’s request. After the iconic photo, which was taken during Mr. Erdoğan’s party’s municipal election campaign in Adana, Mr. Salim Kayıcı presented the prime minister the official tracksuit of Turkish National Kickboxing team with national athlete Ramazan Çiçek, 2013 World Champion in the discipline of Low Kick. This was on March, 2014 before municipal elections in Turkey, and this became a great ocasion for promotion of kickboxing in Turkey. One of leading sports magazines in Turkey wrote and article about it and put it on the cover page of magazine as below:

It is very important to have support of such strong and important politicians behind kickboxing sport, since it is in application process to IOC and this is also very important for promotion of the sports. President of Turkish Kickboxing Federation Salim Kaycı has very good relations with very important officials in Turkey and his federation has full governmental support in Turkey and he is doing his best to use these relations for the sake of kickboxing sport. Turkish Kickboxing Federation is one of the biggest federations in kickboxing community with over 100,000 official athletes and with a very big budget.
