Several national presidents have been contacting WAKO IF and WAKO Europe for the postponement of the Championship. Following this, WAKO IF President Mr. Roy Baker and WAKO Europe Acting President have collectively approached Mr Salim Kayıcı, WAKO IF Vice President and President of Turkish Kickboxing Federation, who is also the organiser of the championship to review the prospects of rescheduling the European Championships schedule for early October to a later date in the December. Following this, the organiser Mr. Kayıcı took immediate action and had meetings with the relevant authorities. As a result of these meetings, it was decided that WAKO European Seniors Kickboxing Championship should be postponed to be held on 5-13 December 2020. This was officially approved by and confirmed by WAKO IF and WAKO Europe. As initially planned, the championship will take place at Antalya Sports Hall in Antalya, Turkey. This was a good decision as situation in most European countries regarding opening the borders and international flights remain unclear. Other WAKO continental championships are also expected to be postponed. We will keep informing our followers about the other WAKO Continental Championships as soon as we receive information about confirmed dates.
